The St Andrew Central police are looking for a man who was seen in a viral video kicking a woman while she laid helpless on the ground following an assault matter that the two are involved in at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way Tree.

In the 18-second clip, the man who the police say has “several Corporate Area addresses”, viciously assaulted the female while hurling a slew of choice words in her direction. He ended his assault and walked away from the scene after onlookers were beginning to emerge. The incident reportedly took place on Wednesday about 1:30 p.m., a few metres away from the courtyard and the Half-Way Tree Police Station.

When contacted, head of the St Andrew Central Police Division, Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, said he felt aggrieved after watching the video and has made an urgent plea to the suspect to turn himself in to the police.

“We have been to several places yesterday (Wednesday) and today (Thursday) in search of him. So we suggest to him that he turns himself in because it can only be worse for him, because we will find him if he doesn’t, based on the pursuit of the case,” Nesbeth warned.

He added that the assault victim was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital and was treated after she had filed a report to the police.

“She is to return to us for further investigation. I am advised that it has do with another assault matter they are involved with at the court. When they left the court, apparently he was angry about the whole circumstances and began to assault her,” Nesbeth said.
