Doe Eyes Is the Adorable Makeup Trend Taking Over TikTok

If you haven’t already spotted “siren eyes” blowing up on TikTok, um, where have you been? But now the makeup trend has a new baby sis—“doe eyes”—that’s limbering up to steal the spotlight. Tutorials for siren eyes versus doe eyes have been trending across social with Mean Girls’ Karen Smith providing the soundtrack: “But I’m always on your left?”

The gist? One’s sexy, one’s sweet. It’s Xtina versus Britney (circa “Baby One More Time”). Siren eyes is characterized by elongated liner and lashes swept outward for a heavily lidded sexy, feline look, inspired by Greek mythology’s dangerously seductive sea creatures. The trend has already picked up more than 380 million views on TikTok and counts celebs like Megan Fox and Bella Hadid as fans. Doe eyes, on the other hand, is the complete opposite, giving us adorable, pure, innocent Bambi vibes.

Instead of creating a cat shape, eyes are rounded and widened with a dot of highlighter in the inner corner and a cream-colored kohl pencil brightening the waterline. Mascara is stroked straight up and out through lashes for a wide-eyed, fluttery, fanned-out effect, and liquid liner is used to create a dinky doelike flick, over an outstretched dagger liner. It’s quickly catching up to its big sis with more than 335 million TikTok views and some serious support from celeb fans like Ariana Grande, Sydney Sweeney, and influencer Wolfie Cindy.

Makeup artist Hayley Bui created a side-by-side comparison of the two looks with both proving popular in the comments (because who says you have to choose a team?). Both offer a different mood for different days.

Here’s a few of our favorite ways to wear the doe-eyes makeup trend.
