NFL DFS picks, 2023 Hall of Fame Game: Browns vs. Jets fantasy football lineup advice on DraftKings, FanDuel

NFL DFS picks, 2023 Hall of Fame Game: Browns vs. Jets fantasy football lineup advice on DraftKings, FanDuel

The 2023 NFL Hall of Fame Game will take place on Thursday in Canton, Ohio, where success in NFL DFS will be all about understanding how reps are likely to be distributed. This year, it will be the New York Jets taking on the Cleveland Browns, but superstars like Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson and Nick Chubb won’t sniff the field. Jets running back Breece Hall began the year on PUP and the battle for reps in his absence will be important to consider for 2023 NFL Hall of Fame Game DFS lineups. Rookie Israel Abanikanda has been making waves this offseason and could be one of the more popular options in the NFL DFS player pool as he looks to establish himself as a primary backup over veteran Michael Carter.

Before making any NFL DFS picks for Jets vs. Browns on sites like DraftKings and FanDuel, be sure to check out the NFL DFS lineup advice, strategy and player stacks from SportsLine NFL daily Fantasy expert Jimmie Kaylor

Kaylor is a NFL and DFS expert for SportsLine, who opened the 2022 NFL season by winning DraftKings’ NFL Showdown Thursday Kickoff Millionaire contest. He edged out over 355,000 other entrants in the contest and also has multiple five-figure tournament wins on his DFS resume. Kaylor, who has been cashing big all season, has covered the NFL and college football for close to a decade as a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, and his background as a former college and NFL player gives him a unique perspective when building his fantasy lineups and locking in his betting picks.

Kaylor hitting on epic NFL DFS picks last season like Jerry Jeudy (4-102-1), Stefon Diggs (12-148-3, 6-106-1, 7-92-1), Amari Cooper (7-101-1, 5-131-1), Nick Chubb (23-113-1, 23-101-2), CeeDee Lamb (8-87-1), Deebo Samuel (6-115-1) Cooper Kupp (14-122), Travis Kelce (7-25-4, 10-106), Davante Adams (3-124-2), Justin Fields (179-1-1, 82-1), Derrick Henry (132-2), Jimmy Garoppolo (228-4), Michael Pittman (7-61-1), Christian McCaffrey (26-108-1, 6-30), Kirk Cousins (460-4), Justin Jefferson (12-123-1), J.K. Dobbins (13-125), T.J. Hockenson (13-109-2), and Evan Engram (7-93-1). Anyone who has followed his picks is way up.

Top Divisional Round NFL DFS picks for Jets vs. Browns

One of Kaylor’s favorite DFS picks for Jets vs. Browns in the NFL Hall of Fame Game 2023, where every player on DraftKings is $11,400 and $12,000 on FanDuel, is Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. A long-time starter for UCLA, Thompson-Robinson threw for 10,710 yards and 88 touchdowns over parts of five seasons with the Bruins while also adding 1,826 yards rushing and 28 rushing touchdowns.

The Browns made him a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and now he’s battling with Joshua Dobbs and Kellen Mond for a spot in Cleveland’s quarterbacks room behind Watson. Thompson-Robinson should see significant work on Thursday with Cleveland only dressing three quarterbacks. His playmaking upside makes him a player you should have exposure to in your NFL DFS lineups.

Kaylor’s NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft should see extended playing time now that he’s on the second string. Playing time in preseason was something lacking for Wilson last year after he tore his meniscus after just five preseason passes, and that injury led to him missing three regular-season games.

Thus, Thursday should provide Wilson an opportunity to get important reps in a game of little importance. It also gives him the chance to further familiarize himself with new offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett’s scheme after Mike LaFleur held the position the last two years. Wilson’s career preseason numbers (214 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 72% CMP%) are much better than his regular-season statistics and he should continue that solid showing against Cleveland’s backups. You can see the rest of Kaylor’s NFL DFS picks here.
