Royal Family LIVE: Prince George issued dire warning about his fate as future King

Experts have warned that Prince George could be a “lonely King” as Charles’s new slimmed down monarchy is leading to “burn out”. Royal commentator Angela Mollard said the Prince and Princess of Wales will likely have to step up to help King Charles in his old age. She said: “There’s a glaring problem with the new look Brand Windsor. Excluding the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the average age of the remaining eight is 77.”

“Indeed, the Queen’s cousin Princess Alexandra, the Hon. Lady Ogilvy is 88 while the Duke of Kent is 87.

“The new King wants a ‘slimmed down’ monarchy but looking at this image, he could find himself with a burnt-out monarchy if the older generation, including himself and the Queen, become ill or infirm, leaving Kate and William to do it all.”

Ms Mollard warned this could lead to George, 9, being “stranded on his own” when he takes to the throne.

She added: “The political pressure on today’s monarchy is very different, of course. But there are real dangers on both sides of the argument.

“As the Waleses lean into their new roles and elevated status they’ll be mindful of who will support Prince George when he, in turn, becomes monarch. Will Charlotte and Louis be allies and working royals as the Princess Royal and Duke of Edinburgh are to the King? Or will this redacted royal family leave our future King stranded on his own?”

Prince George had a big part to play in the Coronation on Saturday, walking ahead of his parents as he showed his growing independence.

George was a Page of Honour at the event that was watched by millions worldwide.

He also stood separately from his parents, Kate and Prince William, on the Buckingham Palace balcony whilst watching the flypast and waving to well-wishers waiting outside.

Met Police chief defends forces Coronation policing

The Metropolitan Police Commissioner has defended the force’s policing operation during the coronation – saying there would be “much more serious questions to answer” if not for their actions.

In a public letter written to London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Sir Mark Rowley said he did not see the coronation as an operation where he needed to “call out our shortcomings” – adding: “No major operation is ever perfect”.

His words came as the force said it “regrets” a monarchist was unable to watch proceedings following her arrest and 13-hour detention after she stood near protesters on the Mall in central London on Saturday.

Alice Chambers called on police to put new processes in place to prevent a repeat of the incident.

In a short statement issued on Friday, the Met said: “Officers involved in the safety and security operation acted on information available to them.

“We regret that she was not able to watch the coronation.

“Officers have spoken with her to explain our decisions and the next steps.”

But in his letter to Mr Khan, Sir Mark highlighted the force’s concerns over the “rapidly developing intelligence” which suggested the potential for paint to be thrown at the procession, damage being done to historic monuments and the use of high sound devices which could have panicked horses.

King’s biographer defends Bridgerton star’s ‘terribly white’ Coronation comment

Adjoa Andoh has been defended by a biographer of King Charles after the Bridgerton actress said the scene of the Royal Family standing on the Buckingham Palace balcony looked “terribly white”.

Catherine Mayer, author of the 2015 book Charles the Heart of a King, was sitting next to Andoh when she made the comment on ITV’s Coronation coverage, and nodded approvingly when the remark was made.

Mayer has re-iterated her support of Andoh’s comments, tweeting: “As the woman who was sitting next to Adjoa Andoh and nodding in agreement, I can only nod again.

“The irony is that those launching racist attacks in supposed defence of King and country instead undermine the man, the monarchy and the UK.”

Andoh, 60, who is best known for portraying Lady Danbury in the steamy Netflix favourite, made an appearance as a guest pundit during the ITV coverage.

‘Not passionate romance’: Insider lifts lid on Fergie and Andrew’s complicated bond

A royal insider has described the relationship between Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew as “not a passionate romance” but more of a deep friendship, as the Duchess has continued to stand by Andrew following his ousting from public life.

Although they live together at Windsor’s Royal Lodge the source noted they had “separate bedrooms” but would still do anything for each other, with Fergie insisting her ex-husband is a good man in spite of allegations of sexual assault made against him by Virginia Giuffre.

Andrew has always strenuously denied any wrongdoing over his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and subsequent legal battle with Ms Giuffre, and Fergie has consistently leapt to his defence, claiming he is the “victim of wrongful perception”.

During an appearance on an Italian talk show the Duchess asserted that their wedding day in 1986 was the “best day of my life” and still refers to Andrew as “the love of my life”, according to the Daily Mail.

A former courtier, who has known Andrew for 30 years, said of the pair: “Theirs is not a great passionate romance – they have separate bedrooms at Royal Lodge – but it’s more about the deepest form of friendship.”

‘Natural’ Meghan is ‘more spontaneous’ before Royal Family life in resurfaced video

A resurfaced video has shown Meghan Markle’s empathy after she helped bring safe drinking water to almost 60,000 people in Rwanda.

Meghan travelled to Rwanda as an ambassador for World Vision Canada in January 2016, just months before her first-ever date with Prince Harry.

During her visit, the Duchess trekked to unclean water sources, visited clean water projects and helped build a well, while also listening to the stories of children who had been forced to drop out of school to travel far distances in search of water.

In the video, Meghan Markle can be seen enthusiastically shaking hands with locals, chatting and laughing with volunteers and is also hugged by a little girl as she learns how clean water has helped local communities.

Judi James, a body language and communication expert, analysed the video and explained the footage showed a “more low-key version of Meghan” before her time in the Royal Family.

Kate’s subtle tribute to Princess Diana but move shows she’s taking ‘own direction’

Kate, Princess of Wales paid a touching but subtle tribute to her late mother-in-law at the King’s Coronation by wearing a pair of pearl and diamond earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana.

In comparisons made between pictures of the two women, some claimed that Kate had worn the earrings the “wrong way round” in a rare fashion mishap for the princess, however, one royal commentator believes it was not a “mistake” but rather a sign of Kate “taking a new direction”.

A Buckingham Palace source says Kate “appreciates the history” of her role but wanted to “create her own path”.

The Collingwood jewels were gifted to Diana ahead of her wedding to then-Prince Charles in 1981, with Kate inheriting them after her marriage to Prince William.

Some initially believed they were the same earrings worn by Diana with her infamous ‘revenge dress’ outfit, however, this claim has since been dismissed.

John Cleese confesses he ‘couldn’t stop laughing’ at King Charles’ Coronation

John Cleese has revealed he could not help but view King Charles III’s Coronation through a comedic lens, and even went as far as to compare it to Monty Python sketches.

The comedian confessed to GB News that he “lost it” when he watched the historic event on television with his wife.

“I couldn’t stop laughing,” he admitted, while visibly struggling to keep it together.

“All these people in these silly costumes, all taking things so seriously.

“I thought it was a [Monty] Python sketch.”

Cleese – who once played King Arthur in 1975’s Monty Pyton and the Holy Grail – explained that he “wasn’t laughing at the people because they were playing their parts really well”.

While royal commentators described Kate, Princess of Wales’s, Coronation look as “exquisite,” the eagle-eyed experts also noted her tactical move to avoid stealing the show.
