Kaigama assumes duty as 47th CP in Sokoto

The newly posted Commissioner of Police, Mr Ali Kaigama, on Tuesday assumed duty as the 47th police chief in Sokoto State.

This development is contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto by DSP Sanusi Abubakar, the command Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO).

According to the PPRO, Kaigama took over from Mr Muhammed Gumel, who was deployed to Kano State command.

“Before his posting, the new CP was Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Niger State command, who was promoted to the rank of CP on Dec. 30, 2022.

“Kaigama, born on Aug. 15, 1967, at Tola Binyeri in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Bayero University, Kano, in 1990.

“He was Divisional Police Officer in over 13 divisions across Kaduna, Kebbi and Borno States, OC Firearms Kaduna command, CSP Zone 10 Sokoto, among many, other positions,” he said.

The command spokesman added that the new CP is very much aware of the prevalent security challenges in Sokoto state.

“He enjoined the good people of the state to remain law abiding and equally solicits for continuous community partnerships with the Police Command.

“This is to enable it provide the citizens with community-led policing in accordance with international best practice,” he added.

Abubakar further said that going by Kaigama’s pedigree in the areas of administrations and investigation, he will kept an outstanding record of integrity with zero tolerance to corruption, impunity and criminality. (NAN)
