NBA G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson, who is widely projected to be the No. 2 pick in this year’s NBA draft, has been shut down for the remainder of the season, per ESPN’s Jonathan Givony:

There are five games remaining in Ignite’s season. Henderson did not play in their last game against the Texas Legends.
Henderson has missed time after landing in concussion protocol following a nasal fracture and an ankle injury.
The 19-year-old averaged 16.5 points on 42.9 percent shooting, 6.5 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 19 games for the Ignite.
Henderson would be a No. 1 draft prospect in most years, but that spot has been taken by Victor Wembanyama in 2023. The 7’4″ superstar is the unquestioned top prospect and arguably the best one since LeBron James in 2003.
Still, Henderson is tremendous in his own right, and he has nothing more to prove at this juncture. Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report has Henderson going No. 2 overall in his latest mock.
“The play of Brandon Miller, Nick Smith Jr.’s return and the Thompsons’ upside may at least make the Spurs think before taking Henderson,” Wasserman wrote. “But whichever team lands the No. 2 pick will presumably circle back to the Ignite star.”
This year’s NBA draft will take place June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
