Meizu has set a date for the launch of its 20 and 20 Pro flagship smartphones, according to a new leak. The smartphones had been rumored to do so with a unique, if polarizing, look in a previous tip. However, according to newer live images, the OEM has gone with a design that might also appeal to fans of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series instead.

Meizu is projected to introduce new smartphones to compete with the top-end Android devices of 2023 thus far. Like other potential rivals such as the Xiaomi 13, and, most recently, the iPhone 14, the vanilla 20 is now rumored to launch in a shade of yellow.

Its series had been linked to a slightly odd, almost emoji-like, rear camera hump; however, the latest Meizu 20 design leak purports to debunk that earlier rumor and point to a much more conventional look. It consists of a flat-edged chassis with individual, Samsung Galaxy S23-like rear cameras in a vertical line: 3 for the 20 and 4 for the 20 Pro.

The bottom-most lens cutout also integrates a ring flash in both cases. The 20 and 20 Pro is also now officially backed to augment specs such as an OIS-enabled 50MP sensor as one of these camera with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, a 1440p 120Hz E6 AMOLED display and a 5,000mAh battery with 50W mCharge wireless fast charging and UWB features such as “CCC3.0” digital key functions.

Meizu has yet to include a launch date with these new teasers, although, according to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station, it might be March 30, 2023.
