Dragon Ball FighterZ characters might have tons of Gokus, but there’s more than that. The FighterZ roster has some really fun picks from across Dragon Ball. Out of the top fighting games, it has one of the widest rosters.

It brings in characters from Dragon Ball, the newer Super incarnation, and even some of the original films made in the 90s.

Here’s all of the Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters currently in the game.

Android 16

Android 16 - Dragon Ball FighterZ CharactersThe gentle-hearted android that was instrumental in the fight against Cell appears here. In the story of FighterZ he’s been rebuilt by Bulma.

Android 18

Android 18 - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

One of the two Androids made by Dr Gero that began the entire mess of timelines and time travel! Her character move set also features Android 17 as a fun addition.

Android 21

Android 21 - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

This is FighterZ’s brand-new character! The villain of the story mode was a fun addition to the cast. She’s also become part of Dragon Ball proper, making a cameo appearance in the recent Dragon ball Super: Super Hero movie.

Beerus

Beerus

The God of Destruction features in the Dragon Ball Fighterz roster with a move set that sums up his power. Beerus is a deity character who specialises in destroying planets, when he isn’t too tempted by the tasty food on offer.

Ginyu

Ginyu - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Ginyu was one of the strongest fighters in the universe back in the Frieze saga, serving as the head of the Super Sentai-style Ginyu force. He’s a more niche pick for the base Dragon Ball FighterZ characters.

Cell

Cell - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Cell in his Super Perfect form was the ultimate lifeform created by Dr Gero. Ultimately it was the ego that came with this that partially lead to his downfall. He’s one of Dragon Ball’s most iconic villains.

Frieza

Freiza - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Final Form Frieza is the next character on the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. This villain has proven to be one of the most prevailing of Dragon Ball, being brought back to life and more recently handed power up after power up to keep him relevant.

Gohan

Gohan - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

The adult form of Gohan comes with a model based on his Buu saga appearance, where he really led the series as a protagonist for quite a while. Goku’s mild-mannered son is still a fan favorite and his move set really helps to differentiate him from the other Saiyans in the cast.

Teen Gohan

Is FighterZ Crossplay?

Teen Gohan (actually 9 or 10 years old) is the second form in the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. This one takes him from maybe his most iconic moment, shattering his limits and turning Super Saiyan 2 for the first time against Cell.

Goku – Super Saiyan

Goku SSJ - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

The first version of our protagonist in the Dragon ball FighterZ characters. This is the hero of the story, testing out the powers of the Super Saiyan form. His moveset is more closely tied to the part of the story where Goku relied on this form the most. Meteor Smash does have him busting out Super Saiyan 3 briefly though.

Goku – Super Saiyan Blue

Goku SSJB - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Super Saiyan Blue (or Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan if we’re being ridiculous) is one of the more recognisable developments from Dragon Ball Super. Far from just being a paint job, this version of Goku has access to God Ki and all the powers it entails. He’s a key part of the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster.

Goku Black

Goku Black - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Goku Black is a Supreme Kai, a high-level deity, who turned evil and stole Goku’s body in an aborted timeline. Here he’s in his Super Saiyan form, which is pink just because we need the whole rainbow of Saiyan forms among the Dragon Ball FighterZ characters!

Gotenks

Gotenks - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Gotenks is the fusion of Goten and Trunks. His moves are creative, they might sound and look like some children thought them up, because they actually did. It’s all about what looks and feels the coolest which makes for a fun choice in the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster.

Hit

Hit - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

The Assassin from another universe is one of the breakout characters in FighterZ. It would be tricky to implement his time-stopping powers in-game, but Hit does have cool moves that give the same effect without breaking the rules of a fighting game.

Kid Buu

Kid Buu - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Kid Buu is the final but original un-polluted form of Buu. This character was the final boss of the original Dragon Ball manga, a force of pure chaos.

Krillin

Krillin - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Goku’s childhood best friend might not have any transformations, but he still manages to keep up with the aliens, demons, and other creatures. Krillin’s moveset sports some of the most iconic in the series like the Kienzan.

Majin Buu

Majin Buu - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

By the point of Dragon Ball Super, this one-time ultimate evil is now a big pink friend and comic relief character! In the FighterZ roster Buu doesn’t quite have those insane regenerative powers but for a bigger character, he’s still viable.

Nappa

Nappa - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Vegeta’s henchman and one of few Saiyans we meet, Nappa is always a welcome addition to the Dragon Ball FighterZ characters

Trunks

Trunks - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Future Trunks or the grown-up version of Trunks is a must for any Dragon ball fighting roster! This character comes from an alternative future where Goku and the other Z fighters perished, leaving the androids free reign to destroy the earth. His moves make good use of his trademark sword.

Piccolo

Piccolo - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Piccolo may have begun as a demon king hell-bent on conquering the world, but since the start of Z and his reincarnation he’s become one of the most important allies to Goku! The Namekian has an interesting moveset that makes good use of his alien abilities.

Tien Shinhan

Tien - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Tien Shinhan started as a rival to Goku, being trained by the sinister Crane Hermit School. Turning over a new leaf, he’s now devoted himself entirely to martial arts. Tien is an often-overlooked part of the cast, but he’s a fun addition to Dragon Ball FighterZ roster.

Vegeta – Super Saiyan

Vegeta 9000

The super Saiyan form of Vegeta sports the iconic blonde hair and moves dating more from the Cell saga.

Vegeta – Super Saiyan Blue

Vegeta SSJB - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

This is the Super Saiyan God form of the character! This version of the character has become iconic through Super and his move set includes more modern moves from the follow-up manga and films.

Yamcha

Yamcha - Dragon Ball FighterZ Characters

Yamcha started out as one of Goku’s earliest rivals in the very first arc of the original manga. He is more of a joke among fans owing to his inability to keep up with Saiyans, Namekians, and Gods. He’s still included in things like the FighterZ roster though, still rocking the Wolf Fang Fist.

DLC Characters

Alongside the base roster, Dragon Ball FighterZ characters have grown with loads of DLC! There are even more forms for Goku and Vegeta, but plenty of other characters too. The game has pulled from GT, non-canon movies, Super’s sequel movies, and basically every area of Dragon ball! Some of the DLC characters have become pretty big, being used heavily at tournaments like DBFZ World Championship. These are all of the DLC characters that complete the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster!

  • Bardock
  • Broly
  • Vegito
  • Zamasu
  • Goku – Base
  • Vegeta – Base
