NightCap, Drink-Spiking Prevention Product Designed By Former Shark Tank Contestant Shirah Benarde

NightCap, Drink-Spiking Prevention Product Designed By Former Shark Tank Contestant Shirah Benarde(RestaurantNews.com)  At the time, 16-year-old Shirah Benarde created NightCap, a drink-spiking prevention cover to protect people in public places. The innovatively designed covers can fit different glasses and cups used in clubs, bars, and house parties. Shirah utilized simple materials around her home to create a unique product that simultaneously accomplishes multiple goals. The users can use it in bars, clubs, and restaurants and prevent themselves from being targeted by predators.

Shirah invented the NightCap in 2019 and started a partnership with her older brother, Micheal, a senior at Florida State University. In early 2021, both siblings appeared on the ABC hit show, Shark Tank, agreeing with Shark Lori Greiner. Greiner referred to the product as “genius.” He said no other item on his show had ever resounded and declared that “NightCap should be in the hands of every woman.”

The goal behind NightCap was to create a product for young girls and women. Shirah noticed that predators primarily targeted women in bars, clubs, and restaurants — often in college towns. Shirah wondered what she could do to help keep her friends. Hence, she designed this product with various qualities, giving users peace of mind and an immediate pragmatic solution to the drink-spiking epidemic. It is a portable, washable, fashionable, wearable cover. Apart from that, it is suitable for everyone and reasonably economical. The users utilize it as a protective drink cover, but it can be used as a stylish hair scrunchie. NightCap is easy to use, and you can wear it on their wristbands, highlighting the user’s fashion sense. The users can pull the cover from their pockets and place it over the drink. It can easily be placed around the glass. It is a reusable product, so the users can wash it after use and use it again.
