South-East London but Sydney-based R&B starlet Chanel Loren has returned with brand new single ‘Rollin’’, accompanied by a captivating music video courtesy of director Angie Osman. It is Loren’s fourth release, following her debut single which was released back in March.

‘Rollin’’ is a stripped back, minimalist slice of modern R&B, displaying a clean chord progression with a bare but punchy drum and bass backbone. The subtle synth drops, and inflections give more ear candy to the listener, and adds more elements to the minimalist nature of the track but never overloads it. Loren’s vocals are smooth and layered well, her accent coming through occasionally which adds to her London R&B roots. Her influences seem to be a blend of the young and old, with hints of 90s R&B meshing with the modern sounds we’ve all come to know and love.

In a heavily saturated R&B world, tracks like ‘Rollin’’ is what an artist needs to stand out. Chanel Loren is already one to watch, and releasing tracks of this calibre.

Tune in now.
