Led by All-Star third baseman José Ramírez, Cleveland has been in or around first place much of the season. Though the Twins are currently their primary pursuers, the White Sox aren’t far behind, despite the loss of All-Star shortstop Tim Anderson to a torn ligament in his finger. They will have AL Cy Young contender Dylan Cease on the mound, with the right-hander taking a 12-5 record and 2.09 ERA into the game.

In the booth, play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti is joined by analysts Steve Stone (White Sox) and Rick Manning (Guardians). Stone pitched 11 years in the Majors, winning the AL Cy Young Award in 1980. Manning spent eight of his 13 MLB seasons with Cleveland, winning a Gold Glove Award in 1976 for his prowess in center field.

NBC Sports’ Ahmed Fareed hosts the MLB Sunday Leadoff pre- and postgame shows each week, and also serves as the in-game reporter. This Sunday, Fareed will be joined by six-time All-Star CC Sabathia and Rob Friedman, aka PitchingNinja on Twitter (@PitchingNinja), who provides pregame pitching breakdowns.

MLB Sunday Leadoff on Peacock debuted on May 8, beginning an 18-week schedule of exclusive MLB contests every Sunday morning. Peacock was also the exclusive home of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.

The MLB Sunday Leadoff game each week is the only game scheduled until 1:30 p.m. ET, when the rest of the day’s action will begin. The start time for each MLB Sunday Leadoff game is noon ET for the remainder of the games through Sept. 4.
