Fat Joe celebrated his 52nd birthday on Friday (Aug. 19) at the Brooklyn Chop House in New York. Hosted by music industry impresario and restauranteur Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins, the celebrity-beloved restaurant transformed into the ultimate birthday dinner venue for Joey Crack.

Special attendees and friends included Ashanti, CBS Mornings’ Gayle King, radio icon Angie Martinez, Busta Rhymes, Mary J. Blige, and more. Busta, Jim Jones, Ashanti, MJB, Remy Ma, Julez Santana, and Styles P all took the mic with impromptu performances. Overwhelmed with love, Fat Joe took the mic to share some of his own personal stories and sentiments, which spilled over an hour.

The Terror squad boss recently announced that he will be taking the stage for a one-man show in New York this fall. He shared that it will serve as a platform for him to open up about his life and career. Based on his upcoming memoir, The Book of Jose, the show itself will feature an introduction from Dave Chappelle, as well as other celebrity appearances and will be co-produced by Roc Nation and Magic Lemonade.

“The world will be getting Fat Joe at his most authentic, vulnerable, and comedic self on that stage,” Joe said. “I’m not holding anything back. I’ve always taken pride in my storytelling, but we’re about to take it to the next level. I’m grateful to Dave Chappelle, Roc Nation, and Magic Lemonade for their support in sharing my story and helping make this one-man show the biggest event ever.” The memoir is available for pre-order at Penguin Random House now.
